This 6-hour in-person/hands-on course is for licensed healthcare providers who are searching for one on one/ practical training in IUD insertions and removals.
This course will teach you how to sound the uterus, apply a para-cervical block and dilate the internal cervical canal. Insertion of both copper and hormonal IUDs will been demonstrated. IUD removals, with both the strings present and not present will be reviewed.
Supplies and instruments both necessary and recommended with be discussed, and supplier order forms provided.
A minimum of 8 IUD insertions will be observed, with the student taking part in a minimum of 6 insertions- advancing from sounding the uterus to inserting the IUD.
